Job description
The Senior Program Manager will lead a government contract within the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), supervising a team of contractors. The Senior P.M. will help lead the organization's strategic objectives, working closely with senior executives within the Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA).
- Manage and provide oversight for a team of contractors and their projects. Lead development of project schedule.
- Ensure government requirements in the Performance Work Statement (PWS) are met.
- Monitor and report on contract financials.
- Conduct detailed analysis and research to support organizational initiatives and decision-making processes.
- Develop and present high-quality presentation decks for senior executives within VBA, ensuring clarity and professionalism.
- Communicate effectively with senior executives, creating reports, and memos, and delivering verbal presentations.
- Conduct business analysis to identify opportunities for process improvements and enhanced efficiency.
- Develop and maintain business intelligence dashboards to support data-driven decision-making.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather data, analyze trends, and provide actionable recommendations.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of best practices in project management, business analysis, and evidence-based policymaking.
Job requirements
Minimum Education and Credential Certification Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college.
- Active Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or Program Management Professional (PgMP) certification.
Preferred Education and Experience
- Master’s degree
- Minimum ten (10) years of relevant managerial experience managing projects/programs.
- Experience with evidence-based policymaking under the Evidence Act of 2018 is a plus.
- Experience leading projects or project teams.
- Experience working on efforts in the VA.
Skills
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly PowerPoint.
