FIAR Sr Financial Consultant
Task Lead: As Task Lead, you will lead a five-member Financial Improvement & Audit Remediation (FIAR) team executing internal testing for a $4B+ Space Systems Command/Communications and Guidance MCPNT (SSC/CG) budget. The Task Lead will give final approval for automated test plans used to verify compliance with federal requirements in preparation for annual financial statement audits. Additionally, the Task Lead will leverage insights gained from an array of process improvement analyses to enhance audit readiness for Enhanced Polar System (EPS), Global Positioning System III (GPS III), Operational Control System (OCX), Wideband Global SATCOM (WGS), and Military GPS User Equipment (MGUE).
Team Members: As part of the Financial Improvement Audit Remediation (FIAR) team, you will be implementing audit practices, standards and regulation requirements. Experiment with internal audits and process improvement to identify financial control issues and gaps. As a result, create Correction Action Plans (CAPs) and develop innovative approaches to improve financial information. You will be a key player in providing key stakeholders with financial and business process analysis to make informed operational and strategic decisions; measuring historical performance, short and long-term strategic planning, evaluating current and future opportunities and risks, highlighting issues and strengths in the business, and clearly communicating the most relevant financial information to management.
- Conduct internal sampling and testing of assessable units (Funds Receipt and Disbursement, Travel Pay, Government Purchase Card, Reimbursement Budget Authority and Execution, Contract and Vendor Pay, Dormant Account Review – Quarterly (added)
- Develop recommended corrective action plans based on findings from internal sampling and testing (added)
- Support the budgeting process of Space acquisition programs where you will be working alongside our client to provide Financial and Budget support using quantitative/qualitative analysis, implementing alternative strategies, budget and financial forecasts, developing reports, and presenting analysis and recommendations to the client.
- Providing key Space Systems Command stakeholders with financial and business analysis to make informed operational and strategic decisions; measuring historical performance, and short and long-term strategic financial planning, evaluating future business needs, identifying financial opportunities and risks, highlighting issues and strengths in the business, and clearly communicating the most relevant financial information to management.
Job requirements
- Experience with DARQ and ADVANA as systems
- Secret Security Clearance
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business, Finance or other Business-related field
- 8+ years’ experience reviewing, analyzing, validating, and reconciling financial information
- Knowledge of Financial Improvement Audit Readiness (FIAR) testing and reporting requirements
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel required.
