Job description

The acquisition management role is responsible for managing all acquisition activities within the DoD. This individual must have the knowledge and technical expertise to acquire technology, services, and equipment for the Department of Defense in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and procedures.

  • Responsible for Information Management to including but not limited to developing, facilitating, updating, and/or coordinating PEO-level briefings, tasks, reports, media queries, public releases, and special projects.
  • Participate in daily/weekly operational meetings (Program tag-up, PEM tag-up, BizOps Strategy) in support of the customer’s external taskings such as Congressional Reporting Requirements (CRR), Congressional RFIs, Bullet Background Papers (BBPs) for event preparations, etc.
  • Collect, organize, edit, verify, and compile data for inputs to the Service Acquisition Executive (SAE) PEO Weekly Reports.
  • Assemble the reports for review, incorporate requested changes, and provide final versions and ready-to-send emails for the customer’s use and dissemination.
  • Participates with personnel to discuss outcomes (process, product, other).
  • Participates in ongoing, tag-ups and coordination meetings.
  • Compiles historical highlights for national-level briefings
  • Assist government personnel with the completion of acquisition-related documents and submit, as appropriate, recommendations for streamlining and improving all phases of the acquisition process, and review reports, papers, and briefings for three-letter organizations and staff packages through all appropriate offices until completion.
  • Provide detailed analysis, quantifiable supporting documentation, and thorough justification for all research, reviews, and assessments performed and include corrective action plans and recommendations to the government.
  • Evaluate acquisition documentation for adherence to policy and guidance; consistency in implementation of the program’s acquisition strategy, technical approach requirements, acquisition policy and guidance, milestones, forecasts, schedule and risk assessment; and realism in achieving a product suitable for the user within cost, schedule and performance constraints.
  • Acquisition documentation includes, but not limited to, acquisition reports, acquisition plans, acquisition strategies, requests for proposals, and documents for sole source efforts. The Recommend program acquisition strategies.
  • Collect, analyze, store, and distribute acquisition “lessons learned” to promote increased efficiencies, timeliness, and effectiveness.

Job requirements

5-8 years experience, of which 5 years shall include duties/assignments specifically in support of space programs.

Proficient in Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel required.

Secret Clearance is required

Hybrid in El Segundo, CA.

Salary range $115-$135K, based on experience
